The Cornish Seal Sanctuary has announced the successful conclusion of its ‘Fund Our Future’ 2024 Online Charity Auction, raising £3,349 towards the development of new on-site seal pools. The Cornish Seal sanctuary expressed its gratitude to everyone who participated, as well as to the companies and individuals who donated the fantastic auction items.

Fund Our Future Campaign

The ‘Fund Our Future’ campaign is part of a larger £1.3 million fundraising effort aimed at securing the long-term future of the Cornish Seal Sanctuary, which has been a beloved part of the community for over 60 years. The campaign seeks to redevelop the Cornish Seal sanctuary’s pools to maintain its status as a world leader in seal conservation and care.

Planned Improvements

The planned redevelopment includes building a state-of-the-art filtration system to significantly improve water quality and clarity for the seals and visitors. The new design will also provide better access to pools for animal carers, creating more space for training and enrichment activities. Additionally, a new undercover viewing area with seating and educational spaces will be constructed, all designed to exceed recommended standards in marine mammal care.

How You Can Help

The Cornish Seal Sanctuary is calling on the community to support this vital campaign. Donations can be made directly through their online donation page. Those interested in organising their own fundraising events can set up a fundraising page via the Cornish Seal sanctuary’s JustGiving profile. For a fundraising pack, email the team at css.fundraising@sealifetrust.com.

Supporters can also contribute by texting SEAL followed by their donation amount to 70490. Please note that standard network rates apply.

By coming together, the community can help the Cornish Seal Sanctuary continue its mission to inspire future generations and provide world-class care for its resident seals.
