20/01/2024 – Cornwall Has A Brief Respite Before Storm Isha

Published On: 20 January 2024Last Updated: 20 January 2024By

As we step out of the shadow of the recent icy conditions, today offers a brief but welcome interlude of calmer weather. The MET Office, having not issued any new alerts for today for Cornwall, suggests a relatively stable day, providing a momentary pause from the harsh winter conditions we’ve been experiencing.

While yesterday’s yellow weather warning highlighted risks of icy patches and wintry showers, particularly in northwest England, today’s forecast paints a milder picture. Temperatures are expected to remain cool, but the absence of significant ice or snow hazards is a relief for commuters and residents alike. The clearer roads and pavements are a welcome change, allowing for safer travel and outdoor activities.

However, this respite should be viewed as a temporary lull, as the horizon holds a new challenge – Storm Isha. Predicted to bring heavy rain tomorrow, preparations for the impending storm should be underway. Residents are advised to enjoy today’s milder weather while staying vigilant and making necessary preparations for Storm Isha’s arrival. Ensuring gutters are clear, securing loose outdoor items, and planning travel arrangements around the storm are prudent steps.

In summary, today’s weather offers a calm before the storm, an opportunity to enjoy a more tranquil day and prepare for the challenges ahead. Stay updated with the latest forecasts and advisories as Storm Isha approaches.
