West Cornwall’s Guide to Effective Food Waste Management
West Cornwall residents have embraced food waste recycling, making a significant step towards a greener future. Cornwall Council thanks everyone for participating and offers helpful tips for using the new food waste caddies.
How to Use Your New Food Waste Caddies
If you’re new to using your food waste caddies, Cornwall Council provides essential guidance to ensure you get the most out of the service.
Kitchen Caddies: Keeping It Clean
For the silver kitchen caddies, it’s recommended to use compostable caddy liners. These liners, which display the green compostable logo, are available at supermarkets. Alternatively, regular washing of the caddy will help keep it clean and odour-free.
Outdoor Caddies: Secure and Ready for Collection
When using the green outdoor caddy, secure the lid by pulling the handle forwards and down over the lid. This ensures that the caddy remains closed, preventing any spills or pests.
Collection Details
Residents are reminded to place their outdoor food waste caddy out by 7am on their designated collection day. Weekly collections help maintain a consistent and efficient service.
