New Food Waste Recycling Set to Start in North East Cornwall – What You Need to Know
From November, residents in parts of North East Cornwall will be able to recycle their food waste, including tea bags, eggshells, and vegetable peelings. The new weekly service will cover Bodmin, Bude, Launceston, Padstow, Wadebridge, Camelford, Kilkhampton, and surrounding areas.
How Will It Work?
Cornwall Council will collect food waste weekly, and it will be converted into fertiliser for farms and clean energy for homes. If you haven’t received your new bin and caddies yet, there’s no need to worry – they will be delivered over the coming weeks.
In the meantime, continue to dispose of your food waste as normal. The new collection service won’t start until you have your new bins and caddies.
Handy Tips on the Way
To help residents make the most of the new service, a leaflet will be distributed with tips on how to use the food waste caddies effectively. This guide will arrive soon, providing all the information needed to start recycling food waste smoothly.
What Does This Mean for You?
If you live in one of the affected areas, this means you’ll soon be able to reduce the amount of waste you send to landfill while contributing to greener energy production. Keep an eye out for your new bins and caddies, and get ready to join the new service in November.
