Warm Hearts, Cosy Hats: Truro Wool’s Bobble Tree of Kindness Returns for 2024
In a heartwarming seasonal return, Truro Wool has brought back its Bobble Tree of Kindness for 2024, inviting local knitters and crocheters to contribute handmade bobble hats for those in need. The project, which will support the Cornwall Refuge Trust and St Petrocs, aims to bring warmth and joy to the community this Christmas.
Handmade Hats for a Cause
Last year, Truro Wool’s Bobble Tree of Kindness became a festive symbol of generosity, with 215 handcrafted hats decorating the shop’s Christmas display on St Mary’s Street. Each hat was later gifted to individuals supported by the two Truro-based charities, helping make Christmas a little brighter for many.
This year, Truro Wool is hoping to make an even greater impact and has put out a call to knitters and crocheters to craft bobble hats in any yarn and colour of their choosing. For those looking for a starting point, free patterns are available on their website, with adult-sized hats especially encouraged.
How to Get Involved
For anyone wishing to participate, hats can be sent or dropped off at Truro Wool (Bobble Tree), located at St Mary’s Street, Truro, TR1 2AF, by 21st December 2024.
With each handmade hat, participants help make Christmas “warmer and brighter” for those in need, turning a creative effort into a meaningful gift for others. Truro Wool also encourages the community to spread the word, hoping to reach more makers who’d love to join this impactful Christmas project.
