Truro Oddfellows Enjoy Thrilling Beetle Drive Event

Truro Oddfellows Friendship Group recently gathered for a lively Beetle Drive event in the upstairs function room of the Central Bar, located on Saint Mary’s Street. Members of the group participated in a competitive and fun-filled afternoon, centred around the classic Beetle Drive game, accompanied by friendly chatter, refreshments, and more.

Support for Oddfellows Members

The event started with updates on the support available to Oddfellows members, covering a range of essential services. From dental and optical assistance to convalescent care, emergency financial grants, and even an ‘in house’ citizens advice phone line, the Oddfellows offer a comprehensive package of aid. There’s also a legal service available, alongside practical assistance for those who need it. These resources are part of the group’s commitment to ensuring members are well-supported in times of need.

Fun and Games

The main attraction of the afternoon was the Beetle Drive, where dice rolled across the tables to the excitement of the players. Participants eagerly called out ‘Beetle!’ as they completed their drawings. This was followed by a raffle, with proceeds going into a special charitable fund that helps support local and wider good causes. The group also gave away books to members as an added treat.

Throughout the event, attendees enjoyed tea, coffee, and a selection of chocolate biscuits, fruit, and sweets, while puzzle sheets and quizzes were handed out to be taken home for further fun.
