Truro Half Marathon Set to Challenge Runners with Hills and Scenic Views

Published On: 14 September 2024Last Updated: 15 September 2024By

Truro is set for an energetic Sunday as the annual Truro Half Marathon returns on 15th September. The event will kick off at 9:30am from Lemon Quay, with registration opening from 8am for participants. This year’s marathon promises a challenging course, with a route that loops around central Truro before heading out to Porth Kea, Playing Place, and Cowlands – featuring several hills to keep runners on their toes.

A Full Event with a Waiting List

This year’s half marathon is already fully booked, but those still hoping to participate can join the waiting list for future opportunities via the Truro Running Club website. For runners who’ve secured their place, the roads will mostly be asphalt, ensuring a smooth and steady surface, even as they navigate the scenic – and sometimes hilly – course.

De-Stress with Pranic Healing

For those looking to unwind or ease any physical ailments after their run, Pranic Healing Cornwall will be set up on Lemon Quay from 9:30am to 12:30pm. They are offering 30-minute healing sessions aimed at treating common runner’s issues, such as knee, leg, or back pain, and to help participants de-stress. Anyone interested in booking a session can do so through Truro Together’s page.

Truro BID Supporting the Event

Truro Business Improvement District (BID) is also showing its support for the event by providing market equipment, including colourful gazebos, to ensure everything runs smoothly.

With excitement building, the streets of Truro will be filled with energy and determination this Sunday. Whether running, watching, or simply enjoying the atmosphere, there’s plenty to look forward to.
