Truro Classic Car Show Returns to City Centre on 6th July
Free event brings vintage vehicles, live music, and more to city centre streets
Truro city centre is set to be transformed on Sunday 6th July as the Truro Classic Car Show returns for its third year.
The popular free event, organised by Truro BID, will showcase a huge variety of classic and vintage vehicles from the 1920s through to the 2020s, giving visitors a rare chance to see cherished models from Morris, Jaguar, Mercedes, Triumph, Porsche, MG, Ford and many others.
This year’s show will stretch across Lemon Quay, Lemon Street, Boscawen Street, and for the first time, motorcycles will also be on display in Pydar Street.
Classic cars, live music and stalls
Alongside the impressive vehicle line-up, there will be automobilia and autojumble stalls, live music, and a selection of new cars on display from local dealers including Vospers, Hawkins Motor Group, Parklands Toyota and P Perryman & Sons Commercial Vehicles.
Truro BID Manager Alun Jones said:
“We’re looking forward to hosting the third Truro Classic Car Show and transforming the city with a static display of much-loved classic and vintage vehicles. We’re pleased to be continuing to increase the size of the event with more activity throughout the city centre and delighted that the Park and Ride have agreed to operate a shuttle service from Tregurra. It will be a great opportunity for car enthusiasts, and the event will also help increase footfall into the city and benefit many of our resident businesses.”
Special guest Sam Lovegrove to appear
Sam Lovegrove, well known for TV shows Find It, Fix It, Drive It and Shed and Buried, will be attending and bringing along one of his classic cars.
Sam said:
“I’m delighted to be invited to the show and, as well as showcasing one of my classic cars, I’m looking forward to browsing around and seeing what restorations may have taken place. I fully appreciate the love and care it takes to keep classic and vintage motorcycles and motorcars going. It is wonderful that this growing event highlights both the automotive community and raises the profile of engineering.”
Raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support
Macmillan Cancer Support will be present on the day collecting donations. The show is free to attend and free to exhibit, but those bringing vehicles are invited to make a voluntary donation to Macmillan at the event or via the JustGiving page.
Leanne Thomas, Relationship Fundraising Manager – South West for Macmillan Cancer Support, said:
“The Truro Classic Car Show is a wonderful event that brings the community together whilst supporting the vital work of Macmillan Cancer Support, helping us ensure no one has to face cancer alone, wherever or whoever they are. We are proud and excited to be involved for a third year.”
Free shuttle service from Tregurra Park and Ride
To make it easier to attend, Truro Park and Ride will run a special Sunday shuttle service from Tregurra (TR1 1RH) to the city centre. Buses will run from 9.30am to 11.45am and again from 1.45pm to 4.30pm every 15 minutes, with a 20-minute frequency between 12.05pm and 1.25pm. The journey will take around six minutes, with passengers dropped off at Quay Street. The last bus back leaves at 4.40pm.
Day tickets can be bought via the First Bus App or from the driver. Multi-day and PLUSBUS tickets are also valid. The Langarth Park and Ride will not be open on this date.
The shuttle is being provided through a partnership between Truro BID and Cornwall Council.
Event runs alongside Great Cornish Food Weekend
The car show also coincides with the final day of the Great Cornish Food Weekend, taking place at the Great Cornish Food Store from 10am to 4pm, located next to the Tregurra Park and Ride. For more, visit www.greatcornishfood.co.uk.

Sponsored by Coodes Solicitors, who are once again supporting the event, Elise Alma, Chair of Coodes Solicitors, added:
