Truro City Council to Temporarily Remove Benches for Maintenance
Benches in Truro city centre are being temporarily removed as part of a wider effort to improve public seating across the city.
Starting on Boscawen Street
The first set of benches to go are located outside of Uneeka on Boscawen Street. Truro City Council confirmed the move in a statement issued on 16th July, explaining that the works are part of an ongoing programme to carry out essential maintenance and repairs.
The removals will happen on a rotating basis, meaning not all benches will be taken away at once.
Keeping Public Spaces Welcoming
In its announcement, Truro City Council thanked the public for their “patience and understanding” while improvements are carried out. The aim, they said, is to help keep the city’s public spaces “welcoming and well maintained”.
No timeframe has been given for when the works will be complete.
