Truro City Council and Cornwall Event Cabins have announced the closure of the Truro Christmas Market on Lemon Quay this Saturday, 7th December, due to the arrival of Storm Darragh. With wind gusts expected to reach up to 80mph, safety concerns for both the public and traders have necessitated this decision.

The Met Office has issued an amber weather warning, in effect from 03:00 to 21:00 on Saturday, signalling the severity of the expected conditions.

Public Safety Takes Priority

In a joint statement shared via social media, Truro City Council and Cornwall Event Cabins emphasised that the decision to cancel the event was not taken lightly. They stressed that safety remains their top priority during adverse weather conditions.

Stay safe, and check local forecasts before heading out this weekend.
