A cheque for £2,000 has been presented to Truro Mayor Christopher Wells following a successful charity Golf Day at Truro Golf Club.

37 Teams Back Local Charities

The Mayor of Truro’s Charity Golf Day was organised by the Rotary Club of Truro Boscawen and saw 37 teams of four take part. The event raised £2,000, which will be split between Truro Foodbank and St Petrocs, the Mayor’s chosen charities.

“Truro City Council welcomes the continued support of the Rotary Club of Truro Boscawen and I am very happy to receive the cheque on behalf of the previous Mayor Cllr Swain,” said Christopher. “I know the charities will put the funding to good use and I thank all involved for their charitable efforts for the community of Truro.”

Local Business Support and a Winning Team

Chris Nicholls Motors was the main sponsor for the day, with every hole and competition during the event sponsored by local Cornish businesses.

The Rotary Club of Truro Boscawen Trophy, awarded to the team with the highest score, went to “La Fuenta”, who finished with 89 Stableford points.

A second cheque for £2,000 was also presented to Cornwall Hospice Care, as another part of the proceeds from the event.
