Cornwall NST (Neighbourhood Support Team) Conducts Deployments to Protect Truro

The Truro, Perranporth and Tregony Police team conducted visible patrols in Truro City Centre and at the Railway Station during the City of Lights Parade on Wednesday, 27th November 2024. The police activity, undertaken by the Cornwall Neighbourhood Support Team (NST), was part of Project Servator—a strategy aimed at disrupting crime and identifying individuals with criminal intent while ensuring public safety.

Officers were seen throughout the afternoon and evening, engaging with the community and maintaining a secure environment for the popular event. Police encouraged residents and visitors to approach officers with questions or concerns, highlighting the importance of community support in keeping the area safe.

Arrest at Lemon Quay Highlights Proactive Approach

A previous deployment under Project Servator on Friday, 22nd November 2024, resulted in the arrest of a male at Lemon Quay for immigration offences. Following his arrest, he was transferred into the custody of Border Force UK, where he remains detained. This incident illustrates the effectiveness of the unpredictability inherent in the Project Servator approach.

The police reiterated their commitment to ensuring that Truro remains a safe and welcoming place for all. Residents are encouraged to continue supporting these efforts by engaging with officers when they are deployed.
