Parking Rules Set to Change in Truro’s Boscawen Street This November
Parking enforcement is returning to Boscawen Street in Truro this November, bringing significant changes to how the area will be accessed. Cormac will be removing and replacing road markings to support these new restrictions.
What You Need to Know
From November, only certain vehicles will be allowed to access Boscawen Street. Here’s a breakdown of the changes:
- Only buses and taxis will be permitted to drive through Boscawen Street.
- Commercial vehicles can drive through and park, but only for loading and unloading.
- Blue badge holders will continue to have access for parking.
These updates will take effect after Cormac replaces the existing road markings. The work is scheduled to happen overnight on Monday 4 November 2024. New markings will enable enforcement of the waiting and loading restrictions, which are set to begin on Tuesday 5 November 2024. Signposts outlining the new rules should be in place before the road marking begins.
Road Marking Works and Resident Updates
Cormac has informed residents that there may be some noise during the night while the road markings are updated. The construction team plans to start work between 6pm and 7pm on both nights, aiming to complete the task as quickly as possible. However, laying the markings, especially on the cobbled sections of Boscawen Street, depends on the weather.
To keep local residents informed, Cormac is distributing letters and providing updates on social media regarding the progress of the works.
