Have Your Say On Truro’s New Skate Park

Residents of Truro and its surrounding areas, especially local skateboard riders, are being encouraged to share their input on the proposed skatepark design at the forthcoming Langarth Garden Village.

This initiative is part of the comprehensive plan for the Garden Village, which includes various amenities and environmental features. Cornwall Council, in collaboration with CORMAC and the Langarth Garden Village project team, is focusing on creating children’s play zones, eco-friendly exercise areas, timber pathways, sustainable water management systems including picturesque lakes and rain gardens, as well as shared gardening spaces and a community orchard, alongside the skatepark.

Maverick, a renowned skatepark design company known for their previous projects in Newquay and St Ives, have been tasked with crafting the skatepark for Langarth Garden Village. They are currently seeking feedback from local riders to ensure the park meets the requirements of local skateboarders.

Skateboarders are encouraged to participate in a brief survey on Maverick’s official website (https://www.maverickskateparks.co.uk/langarth) to express their preferences and ideas for the skatepark.

The proposed design for the skatepark is detailed on Maverick’s website and includes three primary sections: a Combi bowl, a Raised Street Area, and a flowtrack. Maverick is eager to gather community input on these preliminary designs to refine and tailor the skatepark to the local community’s desires and requirements.

Maverick has asked that anyone interested in participating answer the questions before the 9th February 2024 and provide some feedback on the design.
