Gas Pipe Upgrades in Truro: How Will It Affect You?

Work to Continue Until May in Kenwyn Street Area
Wales & West Utilities are upgrading gas pipes in the Kenwyn Street area of Truro, ensuring gas continues to heat local homes and power businesses. The project is progressing on schedule, with completion expected by the start of May, barring any engineering difficulties.
While the upgrades are essential, the work will bring unavoidable disruption, with road closures and traffic management measures in place over the coming months.
Road Closures and Traffic Management
The planned schedule for road closures and restrictions is as follows:
- 3rd February – 3rd March:
- Little Castle Street will be closed from the junction of Kenwyn Street to the junction of River Street.
- Kenwyn Street will be closed from Victoria Square to the junction of Little Castle Street.
- 3rd March – 7th April:
- Victoria Square will be closed from the junction of Kenwyn Street to the junction of River Street.
- St Nicholas Street will be closed from the junction of Victoria Square to the junction of King Street.
- River Street will be closed from the junction of St Nicholas Street to the junction of Castle Street.
- 31st March – 2nd May:
- Calenick Street will be closed from the junction of Kenwyn Street to the junction of Moorfield car park.
- 14th April – 2nd May:
- Infirmary Road will be closed from the junction of Charles Street to ‘Lysnoweth’, with traffic lights on City Road, Charles Street and Calenick Street.
All traffic management measures will be signposted, and dates are subject to change based on engineering progress.
