Children Among Seven Injured in Looe Caravan Park Collision
A serious road traffic collision occurred at Tregoad Caravan & Camping Park near Looe on Wednesday, 30th October, prompting a multi-agency emergency response. Police were called at approximately 6.55pm following reports of an incident involving a Land Rover Defender towing a passenger carriage described as a land train within the park.
Emergency Response and Injuries
The incident saw seven individuals, including three children, transported to Derriford Hospital for assessment and treatment. Fortunately, none of the injuries sustained are considered life-threatening or life-changing. An additional 11 people were either discharged at the scene with minor injuries or found to be uninjured.
The scene was attended by Cornwall Air Ambulance, and two Coastguard helicopters were also dispatched, alongside ambulance and fire services, underscoring the scale of the response to the incident.
Police Investigation and Appeal for Witnesses
Officers from the Roads Policing Team conducted an investigation at the scene to establish the circumstances surrounding the collision. Police have expressed their gratitude to the public for their patience during the road closure necessary for their work.
Authorities are now appealing for any witnesses who have not yet come forward but who may have observed the collision or have relevant information or dashcam footage.
