An Unforgettable Night: Roseland Academy Year 11 Leavers Prom
The Year 11 students of The Roseland Academy gathered to celebrate their much-anticipated leavers prom, marking the end of their secondary school journey with an evening of elegance and tradition. Held at the picturesque Alverton Manor in Truro, the event provided a memorable backdrop for the festivities.
A Community Spirit Shines Despite the Weather
The night began with a time-honoured tradition at Probus Square, where school leavers from Probus and across the Roseland Peninsula gathered to receive well-wishes from family and friends. Despite the inclement weather, the community’s spirit remained undampened. In a gesture of kindness and support, the Probus Churchwarden opened the church doors, offering shelter and ensuring that everyone stayed dry and comfortable.
A Grand Arrival at Alverton Manor
Following the gathering at Probus Square, the students made their way to Alverton Manor for the official prom arrival. The scene was spectacular, with students arriving in an impressive array of vehicles. From luxury and sports cars to classic cars, trucks, lorries, tractors, and even horses, each arrival was a unique display of individuality and celebration.
A Night of Celebration and Awards
The evening continued with a meal during which various prom awards were handed out, recognising achievements and memorable moments from the students’ time at Roseland Academy. The awards added a touch of nostalgia and pride to the evening, celebrating the students’ journey through secondary school.
Music and Entertainment
Adding to the night’s entertainment, The Tregony Teachers provided musical delight, inviting students to join in and play along with the band. The music and the lively atmosphere ensured that the night was filled with joy and camaraderie.
The Roseland Academy Year 11 Leavers Prom of 2024 was more than just an event; it was a cherished memory for all involved, encapsulating the spirit of community, celebration, and the end of an important chapter in the students’ lives.
