Cornwall Tourism Awards Showcase the Region’s Top Businesses

Truro Cathedral was the site of vibrant celebrations on the 7th November, as the Cornwall Tourism Awards returned for their 23rd year, presenting 63 awards across a wide array of categories. The event, hosted amid live performances and insightful presentations, honoured Cornwall’s tourism businesses that continue to uphold the region’s reputation for outstanding service, inclusivity, and sustainability.

A Night of Recognition and Inspiration

The awards ceremony began with entertainment from Mimi Attenburrow, the inaugural winner of the Cornwall Comedian of the Year award, followed by a presentation from Adrian Richards of Via Ferrata Cornwall and BF Adventure. Awards spanned numerous categories, recognising everything from glamping and hotels to dining experiences and visitor attractions. Notable cross-sector awards highlighted businesses championing ethical, responsible, and sustainable tourism.

Michael Steel, Managing Director of Visit Cornwall, remarked on the event, stating, “It’s inspiring to see so many businesses dedicated to excellence in Cornish tourism. Special congratulations go out to the business owners, managers, and every single team member whose hard work and passion make these achievements possible.”

Awards organiser Robin Barker also shared his thoughts: “It’s always fabulous to celebrate the very best in Cornish tourism. Businesses that, whatever the challenge, continue to keep Cornwall at the fore in terms of service, innovation, accessibility, and sustainability. Congratulations to each and every winner.”

Top Honours and Special Awards

Several prestigious awards were announced, including the Outstanding Contribution to Tourism awarded to Mylor Sailing School for their leadership and national influence. Mylor Sailing School also took home Gold awards in both the Accessible and Inclusive Tourism and Active & Learning Experience categories.

The coveted Winner of Winners award went to Lydcott Glamping, which also achieved Gold in the Glamping Business of the Year category. Lydcott Glamping’s win highlights their commitment to creating exceptional visitor experiences in Cornwall.

A special Regenerative Tourism Award, sponsored by Falmouth University, was presented to Lovat Parks, acknowledged for their dedication to environmental and cultural respect, as well as their B-Corp certification. Paul Russell from Falmouth University stated, “They believe in business being a force for good, and are the first B-Corp holiday park group.”
