Outdoor adventures return to The Lost Gardens this half-term

The much-loved Wild Week is making a return to The Lost Gardens of Heligan this May half-term, promising a full week of outdoor fun and nature-based play for families looking to escape the screens and get stuck into the wild.

Running from 24th to 31st May, the event invites children and adults alike to reconnect with the outdoors in Heligan’s 200-acre natural playground, home to the South West’s largest outdoor play area.

Survival skills and axe throwing

From bushcraft basics to axe throwing sessions run by Canoe Cornwall, visitors will have the chance to get hands-on and try something new. Kids and grown-ups can learn how to handle an axe safely, build survival skills, and head to the wildlife Hide to see what creatures are out and about at Heligan during late spring.

All Wild Week activities are included with standard garden admission, and tickets can be pre-booked at www.heligan.com.

Inclusive play session for families with additional needs

A relaxed session is also available on Tuesday 27th May from 9–10:30am, designed specifically for families with additional needs. Places for this session can be pre-booked through Heligan reception.

Admission prices:

  • Adults from £28

  • Children from £12.50

  • Free for under 5s

With fresh air, mud, nature and a healthy dose of adventure on offer, Wild Week at Heligan is shaping up to be an unforgettable half-term for families across Cornwall and beyond.
