St Michael’s Mount Unveils New Learning Hub for Cornish Schools

On Friday, 15 March, St Michael’s Mount celebrated the opening of its Learning Hub, a space dedicated to fostering education and discovery among Cornish schools and learning groups.

The inauguration of this educational facility marks a significant milestone in the island’s commitment to enhancing learning opportunities for the local community.

The Learning Hub aims to serve as an indoor base where students and educators can explore and learn more about the enchanting history and environment of the Mount. This initiative seeks to enrich the educational experience by providing a venue for interactive learning and engagement with the island’s unique cultural and natural heritage.

The opening ceremony was graced by the presence of Lord and Lady St Levan, who officially welcomed local educators, including teachers and headteachers, into the new space. The event was highlighted by a ribbon-cutting ceremony, which saw the involvement of Year 6 pupils from Penpol Primary School in Hayle, adding a touch of community spirit and involvement to the proceedings.

Funding for both the Learning Hub and the role of Education Officer has been generously provided by the St Aubyn Foundation.
