St Mawes Pharmacy Contract Revised, Reduced Hours Announced

In an update released on January 24, 2024, NHS Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly announced a revision to the St Mawes Pharmacy contract following negotiations with pharmacist Faisel Baig. The contract, initially set to be terminated at the pharmacist’s request, has now been successfully renegotiated with a slight reduction in operational hours.

Under the new agreement, the pharmacy’s opening hours will be adjusted seasonally. From Easter to the end of August, the pharmacy will operate for 35 hours per week, down from the previous 41 hours. For the remainder of the year, from September to Easter, the opening hours will be further reduced to 30 hours per week. These changes are scheduled to take effect starting April 1, 2024.

The decision is pending final approval from the formal committees of the Integrated Care Board (ICB), including the Pharmaceutical Services Regulations Committee. NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly have committed to providing further updates once these approvals are received.
