Macmillan Coffee Morning Raises Over £240 in Just Two Hours in St Austell

Community Gathers to Support Cancer Charity

Dignity Ken Newcombe Funeral Directors in Holmbush, St Austell, hosted a successful Macmillan coffee morning yesterday, raising an impressive £242.31 in just two hours. The event, held to support those affected by cancer, saw a fantastic turnout from the community, with more donations still expected to come in online.

Donations and Support

The event was made possible thanks to the generous contributions of cakes and raffle prizes from various local supporters. Double Bakes donated cookies, while Cake Ole offered a voucher for a lucky winner. Sarah Burt provided delicious brownies, and Becky Gale contributed a voucher from The Tanning Booth.

The Yummy Cornish Kitchen supplied an array of cupcakes, and Tina Barrot brought along books from Charlestown. Anne Trevanna generously donated a bottle of gin, while Brenda Setchell, Kelly Toms, Ruth at Amber’s Sweet Cheeks, Stuart Templeton, Jennifer Woodward, Helen Hawkins, Brian Allen, Sharon Bancroft, and Sam Marston all added to the raffle with a variety of prizes.

Special mention was made of Beth Relf, who took on the responsibility of collecting many of these donations, ensuring the event’s success.

Community Spirit

The team at Dignity Ken Newcombe Funeral Directors expressed their heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended and contributed, noting the importance of community support in making such events successful. The atmosphere was filled with generosity and camaraderie, highlighting the collective effort to support Macmillan’s work.
