Hidden Gem Restored: Menacuddle Well Garden Transformed After a Decade of Hard Work
A Decade of Dedication
The Friends of Menacuddle Well in St Austell have spent nearly ten years restoring the historic garden to its former beauty. What was once an overgrown thicket of brambles, laurel, and invasive species has been carefully reclaimed, returning the site to something close to its original design as a formal woodland garden.
Support from Cormac
The Cormac Volunteer Scheme has played a role in the restoration effort, providing a tool shed, composting facility, and a range of gardening tools to support the group’s work.
Award-Winning Efforts
Their dedication has not gone unnoticed. The Friends of Menacuddle Well recently received their latest South West in Bloom award certificate, recognising their commitment to preserving and enhancing the space.
Get Involved
The group meets once a month, no matter the weather, for a hands-on “wellie day” and welcomes new volunteers. Anyone interested in joining can find more information on Cormac’s website or get in touch via email at volunteers@cormacltd.co.uk.
