Free Dance Classes Coming to St Austell Leisure Centre – Here’s How to Join

St Austell Leisure Centre is inviting people to get moving on Sunday, 2nd March as part of Let’s Dance, a nationwide event championed by Angela Rippon CBE.

What’s Happening?

Three free dance-based fitness classes will take place at the leisure centre:

• Zumba – 9am to 10am
• Dance Fitness – 10:15am to 11:15am
• Aerobics – 11:30am to 12:30pm

Let’s Dance is designed to make dance more accessible and brings together dance organisations, charities, health professionals, community groups and celebrities. St Austell is one of just seven GLL leisure centres across the country taking part.

Why Join In?

Rebecca Lilley, GLL’s Health and Fitness Hub Manager in Cornwall, is encouraging people to get involved.

“Dancing is a wonderful form of exercise that doesn’t feel like working out in a gym but has similar physical and mental benefits,” she said.

“Sunday 2nd March at St Austell Leisure Centre is a great free opportunity to see how much fun dancing can be – and it helps keep you healthy too.”

How to Book

Booking for the event opens on 23rd February and can be done online or via the Better app.

GLL operates under the Better brand and runs nine leisure centres across Cornwall on behalf of the council.
