Jack Smith, a Level 2 Bricklaying apprentice with TG Building Contractors, has achieved a remarkable milestone by winning the regional Guild of Bricklayers junior competition.

Representing the St Austell campus of The Cornwall College Group (TCCG), Jack secured his place at the top of the leaderboard during the Western regional competition held at Swindon College.

Rigorous Competition

The competition put participants through intense rounds of bricklaying challenges, designed to test their skills, abilities, and expertise. Jack’s exceptional performance in these tasks earned him the first place in the junior category. Reflecting on his success, Jack said, “I’m incredibly proud to see all the hard work and dedication I’ve put into my apprenticeship recognised in the regional competition and I’m looking forward to representing Cornwall College on a national stage and showcasing the skills I’ve gained during my time at TCCG.”
