Lifeguards at Trevaunance Beach in St Agnes discovered a piece of ordnance on Sunday, 9th June 2024.

The unexpected find occurred at 13:38, prompting an immediate response from the St Agnes Coastguard Search & Rescue Team.

Coastguard Responds Swiftly

Upon receiving the alert, the coastguard team promptly arrived at Trevaunance Cove. Their primary task was to assist the beach lifeguards in establishing a safety cordon around the suspicious item. This precautionary measure was crucial in ensuring the safety of beachgoers while specialist advice was sought from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team.
