A local financial planning business has given Truro’s youth football scene a significant boost by sponsoring the city’s youth football club, enabling them to invest in new kits for all their teams.

Copper Rock’s Support

Copper Rock Financial Planning, a Truro-based firm located in Newham, has become the main kit sponsor for Truro City Youth Football Club, which fields mixed teams across age groups ranging from under 7s to under 18s. The club also runs girls’ teams in the under 10s and under 11s categories, all competing in the Cornwall Youth Football League.

Thanks to Copper Rock’s support, the club has been able to equip its teams with fresh kits, proudly displaying the company’s logo as they compete across the county.

Football for Everyone

Truro City Youth Football Club isn’t just about competitive football. The club hosts community football sessions, including Wildcats training, every Saturday morning during term time at Penair School. These sessions cater for boys and girls from as young as 4 up to 12 years old, offering fun and engaging football training for children of all abilities.

Lisa Marley, Chairperson of the club, expressed the club’s gratitude for the sponsorship: “We are thrilled that Copper Rock have generously supported our club and are proud to have their logo on the front of the shirts of all our competitive teams as they play across the county and in tournaments.”

Marley emphasised the club’s ambition to continue growing, with a specific goal of expanding its girls’ teams to cover every age group.

Investing in the Future

Scott Whitfeld from Copper Rock Financial Planning highlighted the natural connection between his business and the club’s mission: “At Copper Rock we help our clients invest in their future, whether that be mortgages, pensions, or investments. So, it felt a natural fit to support our city’s youth football club which enables boys and girls to learn and enjoy the game in a supportive atmosphere.”

Whitfeld, whose son plays in the under 9s team, added that the club has been making a positive impact on the community since 2002, fostering children’s development by helping them build skills, confidence, and friendships.

This new sponsorship from Copper Rock is set to make a real difference, not only helping the club’s competitive teams but also enabling more local children to access football and enjoy the many benefits of the sport.
