Woman Trampled by Horse in Liskeard Woodland: Rescue Team Called to Assist
Emergency Response at Bodgara Mill
A 58-year-old woman was stretchered to safety after falling from her horse and being trampled in woodland near Liskeard.
East Cornwall Search & Rescue Team were called out by Devon and Cornwall Police at 11:26am on 29th January to assist paramedics who were already on scene. The ambulance service had stabilised the casualty using a vacuum mattress, but the remote location made it impossible for them to evacuate her to the waiting ambulance.
Rescue and Hospital Transfer
Rescue team members carefully carried the woman out of the woodland on a stretcher before she was taken to Derriford Hospital for further treatment.
A spokesperson for the team reminded the public:
🆘 “In an emergency dial 999 and ask Devon and Cornwall Police for Mountain Rescue.”
