Saltash Town Council Proposes Exciting New Developments at Saltash Waterside
Saltash Town Council is inviting residents to provide their feedback on two potential projects aimed at revitalising the Saltash Waterside area. These projects are set to enhance the community experience and offer facilities for all ages and abilities.
A Playground for the Younger Generation
One of the proposed projects is the creation of a new play area on Jubilee Green, specifically designed for children aged 7 years and under. This development aims to provide a safe and engaging space for younger residents to enjoy outdoor activities. The play area is expected to be a welcome addition for families in the community, offering a dedicated spot for children to play and socialise.
A Sensory Garden to Soothe and Stimulate
In addition to the playground, Saltash Town Council is also considering the establishment of a sensory garden opposite the Jubilee Pontoon. This garden is intended to offer a tranquil and interactive environment for people of all ages, including those with sensory processing needs. The garden would feature elements designed to engage the senses, creating a unique outdoor experience that promotes relaxation and well-being.
Community Involvement Crucial for Success
These projects will only move forward if the community expresses support and if sufficient funding is secured from Cornwall Council through the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) funding pot. The Town Council is urging residents to participate in the decision-making process by providing their feedback on these ideas.
To make it easy for everyone to have their say, the council has provided an online survey where residents can share their opinions. The survey is accessible via the Saltash Town Council’s website. For those who do not have access to a computer, assistance is available at the Saltash Town Council Library Hub.
The deadline for submitting feedback is 5 pm on Monday, 26th August 2024.
The council emphasises the importance of community input to ensure these projects align with the needs and desires of Saltash residents.

This is a valuable opportunity for Saltash residents to influence the future of their local area, ensuring that it remains a vibrant and inclusive space for everyone. Don’t miss out on the chance to shape these exciting new developments!
