Saltash Town Council Grants Over £7,500 to Local Organisations

On 14th May 2024, Saltash Town Council announced the approval of grants to a variety of local organisations during their Policy and Finance Committee meeting.

The grants aim to support community development, enhance cultural events, and ensure public safety.

Saltash Bowls Club Receives £1,000

Saltash Bowls Club has been awarded £1,000 to replace the railings at the club green. This upgrade is essential for maintaining the health and safety standards at the club, providing a secure environment for members and visitors.

Cultural Events Get a Boost

Three notable cultural events in Saltash have also received funding:

• Salt Arts CIC: The organisation behind the popular Saltash Songs & Shanties Festival has been granted £975. This festival, taking place in June, features workshops and concerts that celebrate the rich heritage of Cornwall and the Tamar Valley.
• Saltash Regatta: A favourite among locals and visitors, the Saltash Regatta has been awarded £4,998.22. The two-day event is a significant attraction, drawing crowds from across the South West with its exciting activities and vibrant atmosphere.
• Tincombe Tea Party: Scheduled for August, this community event has received £615. The Tincombe Tea Party not only fosters community spirit but also promotes the natural beauty of Tincombe Green.

These grants highlight the Town Council’s commitment to supporting local organisations and events that enhance the community’s cultural and social fabric.
