Prince William Charms Students at Duchy College: A Royal Day to Remember
Duchy College Stoke Climsland received a royal visitor on 17th October 2024, when His Royal Highness The Duke of Cornwall, Prince William, graced the campus, creating an unforgettable experience for students and staff alike.
Engaging with Students and Programmes
The Duke spent time engaging with students, learning about the college’s cutting-edge programmes. A standout moment of the visit was a live CSI demonstration, led by the Military & Protective Services Academy, showcasing the innovative courses on offer at the college.
Royal Interactions and Four-Legged Friends
During his walkabout, Prince William happily posed for photographs and selfies with hundreds of students, who were eager to see him in person. In a personal highlight, Prince William, known for his love of dogs, was introduced to several of the college’s four-legged companions, providing a memorable moment for students in the Animal Management and Dog Grooming programmes.
A Special Tribute and Thoughtful Gesture
In a touching tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth II, students at Sam’s Café on campus prepared a unique ‘refrigerated breakfast cake,’ a dish also enjoyed by The Princess of Wales. The Duke was also presented with a beautiful bouquet of flowers from Duchy College’s sister campus, Rosewarne.
This royal visit shines a spotlight on Duchy College’s ongoing dedication to delivering high-quality education and training to young people in rural areas, helping them build successful futures in the land-based sector.
