In an official statement released by Buckingham Palace, it has been disclosed that The King has been diagnosed with a form of cancer. This diagnosis came to light during a hospital procedure initially intended for benign prostate enlargement when doctors noted a separate issue of concern. Subsequent diagnostic tests confirmed the presence of cancer.
As a result of this diagnosis, His Majesty has commenced a schedule of regular treatments. In line with medical advice, The King will be postponing public-facing duties for the time being. However, he will continue to engage in State business and manage official paperwork as usual during his treatment period.
The Palace’s statement conveyed The King’s gratitude towards his medical team for their swift intervention. This intervention was made possible by the insights gained during his recent hospital procedure. Despite the challenges posed by his diagnosis, His Majesty remains optimistic about his treatment outcomes and is eager to resume full public duties at the earliest opportunity.
In a move aimed at transparency and to curb speculation, His Majesty has chosen to publicly share his diagnosis. The King hopes that by doing so, he can contribute to a greater public understanding and awareness about cancer, offering support to others worldwide who are affected by the disease.
