RNLI Around the Mount Swim Returns to Mount’s Bay on 12th July 2025
Limited Places Left for One of Cornwall’s Most Popular Open Water Swims
A century of brave swimmers have already signed up to take on the RNLI’s Around the Mount Swim 2025, which returns to Mount’s Bay on Saturday 12th July.
This iconic challenge sees swimmers take on a 1.5 mile open water swim from Marazion Beach out around the famous St Michael’s Mount. The event is organised by the RNLI to raise money for their lifesaving work and will be supported on the day by Penlee Lifeboats Ivan Ellen and Mollie and Ivor Dent, along with RNLI lifeguards.
Open Water Challenge
Open to anyone aged 14 and over, this swim isn’t for beginners. Participants must be intermediate or experienced open water swimmers, capable of handling the full distance in sea conditions.
Every swimmer must wear their own wetsuit, attend a safety briefing before getting in the water, and agree to the event’s terms and conditions. No wetsuit, no swim.
Limited Places Still Available
Up to 400 swimmers will take part in total, and while the event is nearly full, a few spots remain. Entry costs £30, and participants are asked to raise at least £100 in sponsorship to support the RNLI’s vital work saving lives at sea.
“All money raised will go towards Penlee Lifeboat Station,” the RNLI confirmed.
The event runs from 1pm to 6pm on Saturday 12th July and promises a fantastic atmosphere. Volunteers are also needed on the day, so even if you’re not swimming, you can still get involved.
