You Won’t Believe How Much Porthleven’s Sea Shanty Weekend Raised for the RNLI
A weekend of song raises nearly £2,000
This year’s Sea Shanty Weekend in Porthleven raised a total of £1,933 for the RNLI, organisers have confirmed.
The event, which took place over the weekend, saw crowds gather to enjoy performances from a host of shanty groups. Held at the Ship Inn Porthleven, the event was supported by volunteers, singers, and the local community.
The RNLI thanked “our wonderful volunteers, the team at Ship Inn Porthleven, all our singers, Andre looking after the PA and of course everyone who came along and donated to the RNLI.” They described it as a “brilliant weekend”.
Next up: Lifeboat Day
The team also confirmed their next fundraising event will be Lifeboat Day, taking place on Sunday 3rd August.
