Police Issue Warning After Teens Seen Climbing Telephone Mast in Porthleven
Youths Seen Climbing Private Phone Mast in Breageside
Police in Helston have issued a warning after reports that a group of teenagers have been climbing a telephone mast at Breageside, Porthleven.
According to a Facebook post by Falmouth and Helston Police, the mast is located on private property and sits within a gated area, meaning no one should be accessing the site. Officers are urging people to stay away.
Serious Safety Concerns
Climbing the mast is described as “incredibly dangerous” by police, who highlighted not only the immediate risk of falling but also the potential long-term health risks from being close to the equipment.
The individuals involved were said to be in their late teens.
Appeal to Parents
Helston Police are asking parents to be aware of where their children are heading when going out with friends.
The warning follows concerns that young people may not understand the dangers or the seriousness of trespassing on private property with live telecommunications infrastructure.
