Local Pub Quiz Raises Hundreds for Porthleven Hedgehog Rescue
A recent quiz night and raffle held at the Black Swan Gweek Inn has resulted in an impressive fundraising achievement for Porthleven Harbour Hedgie Rescue.
The event, organised by Carla, Tiegan, and the entire team at the Black Swan Gweek Inn, successfully raised £503.00 to support the local rescue’s operations.
Fundraising Success Despite Setbacks
Despite not being able to attend the event due to contracting Covid, the rescue’s spokesperson expressed deep gratitude to the organisers and participants. The amount raised through the quiz and raffle will help cover a significant portion of the rescue’s monthly veterinary bill, which amounted to £809.00 last month.
Community’s Generosity Shines
The event saw tremendous support from the local community, with many businesses and individuals donating prizes for the raffle. The spokesperson emphasised the importance of this support, noting that the rescue’s continued operation heavily relies on such community efforts.
Gratitude from the Rescue
In a heartfelt message, the rescue extended its sincere thanks to everyone involved in making the event a success. The funds raised will go a long way in ensuring the wellbeing of the hedgehogs under their care.
The Black Swan Gweek Inn’s quiz night has set a positive example of community spirit and support, providing crucial assistance to the Porthleven Harbour Hedgie Rescue.
