Students at Pool Academy Raise Over £200 for BBC Children in Need with Bake Sale
Sweet Success at Pool Academy Bake Sale
Students at Pool Academy, part of Athena Learning Trust, baked their way to raising more than £200 this week in support of BBC Children in Need. The school community came together to surpass their fundraising efforts from previous years, contributing to the vital work of supporting disadvantaged children and young people.
Community Effort
The bake sale, organised by staff and students, saw an array of delicious homemade treats on offer. The school extended its gratitude to parents and the wider community for their generous donations, which played a significant role in the event’s success.
Nick Ward, Principal at Pool Academy, praised the collective effort, saying:
“It is so important that we come together as a community to help young people in need. I’m so proud of all of our students who either baked or bought to raise money for such a good cause.”
Supporting Children Nationwide
The funds raised will contribute to BBC Children in Need’s ongoing support of nearly 1,500 charities and children’s projects, totalling £91.5 million. During 2022/2023 alone, these efforts helped improve the lives of over 400,000 children.
