Show Your Love for the Beach on 16th February

A community-led beach clean is set to take place at Perranporth on Sunday, 16th February 2025, as part of Cornwall Wildlife Trust’s Love Your Beach Day. The event, organised by Perranporth Marine Conservation Group, runs from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, giving volunteers the chance to help keep the coastline clean while learning about its resilience to climate change.

How to Get Involved

Volunteers should meet next to the Surf Life Saving Club, where gloves, litter pickers, and buckets will be provided. Anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. The event is open to everyone—just turn up and take part.

Andy Nelson from the Making Space for Sand project will also be attending, offering insights into how the project collects data to monitor the effects of climate change on Cornwall’s beaches and dune systems. Organisers are hopeful that Andy will lend a hand with recycling duties once the beach clean is complete.

A County-Wide Effort

Perranporth’s clean-up is just one of many taking place across Cornwall as part of Love Your Beach Day. With 18 community-led marine conservation groups supported by Cornwall Wildlife Trust, those unable to attend this event are encouraged to check for other nearby beach cleans.
