Spotted on the Promenade? Penzance’s Colourful Summer Signal Returns
Colour Returns to the Promenade
The Promenade Flags are back in Penzance, marking the unofficial start of summer in the town.
Installed on Thursday 22nd May, the popular flags were raised along Penzance Promenade by High Maintenance. The same team is set to install a new collection of flags and banners throughout the town centre over the Bank Holiday weekend.
Locally Made with a Cornish Touch
This year’s flags have been created by Sail Flags, a company based in Goldsithney. The designs were produced in collaboration with Cornish illustrator Jago Silver, adding a local creative touch to the seasonal display.
Brightening Up the Town
Delivered by Penzance Council, the flags are a regular summer feature and are expected to remain in place until September. They’re part of an annual tradition that adds a splash of colour to the town and its promenade as the warmer months roll in.
