He now faces 9 counts of theft from shop and one count of fraud by false representation. Police say the case has been adjourned for sentencing, and Martyn has been released on bail.

Strict bail conditions in place

While on bail, Martyn is subject to an Interim Criminal Behaviour Order that prevents him from entering several key areas in Penzance, including:

  • Market Jew Street

  • Causeway Head

  • Queens Square

  • Western Promenade

He is also banned from entering certain shops specifically named in the order:

  • Asda Express, Western Promenade, Penzance

  • Tesco Express, Branwell Lane, Penzance

  • Boots, Market Jew Street, Penzance

In addition, he is not allowed to remain in any shop or commercial premises in Cornwall if asked to leave by staff, a police officer, or anyone responsible for the premises.

Police ask for public help

Penzance Police say if Martyn is seen breaching any of these conditions, the public should contact Devon and Cornwall Police.

The Neighbourhood Policing Team added they are continuing to work hard to keep the town centre a safe environment for everyone.
