Police Appeal After Sexual Assault Reported Near Penryn
Police are appealing for witnesses following a reported sexual assault at a bus stop in Longdowns, near Penryn.
Incident Details
Officers were notified after an incident that took place between 8am and 8.30am on Thursday 3rd April. It was reported that a teenage girl was waiting at the bus stop when a man approached her, made lewd comments and then sexually assaulted her.
The victim managed to escape. The suspect is then said to have approached two other young people nearby, making inappropriate comments to one and putting his arm around her.
Arrest and Appeal
A man in his 30s from the Penryn area has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and breach of a criminal behaviour order. He has been released on police bail.
Devon and Cornwall Police are asking for anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the incident to get in touch.
