Beachgoers Urged to Stay Away for Safety Reasons

St Austell Coastguard responded to reports of a dead dolphin at Par Beach on 22nd February 2025 after receiving a 999 call from a family.

Once on scene, the team gathered information on the animal and relayed the details to their operations room. The council has been informed and will arrange for the removal of the dolphin.

A spokesperson for the coastguard warned the public to keep their distance from the animal, advising that both people and pets should stay away for safety reasons.

The coastguard reminded the public to always dial 999 and ask for the coastguard in similar situations, as the family did in this instance.
