A new pizza and cider restaurant has opened on the harbourside in Padstow – and it’s already made quite the entrance.

The Stable’s Launch Night Brings the Buzz

The Stable, known for its handcrafted pizzas and craft cider, officially opened its new Padstow location with a lively launch night. Local press, influencers and businesses gathered for an evening of food, drinks and entertainment to mark the occasion.

One of the main highlights was a live pizza cook-off hosted by BBC Radio Cornwall’s Daphne Skinnard. Two teams battled it out in front of guests to create the best pizza on the night. Cornish Pirates rugby players Harry Yates and Ollie Andrews added heat to their creation using the club’s new hot sauce, while chef James Strawbridge teamed up with fellow Cornish Pirates player Cameron Jones to make a calzone that eventually won over the judges after an initial tie.

Pizza, Cider and Entertainment

Guests were treated to some of The Stable’s signature dishes, including Padstow-exclusive pizza ‘The Harbour Master’, the fiery ‘Blazing Saddle’, crispy calamari, brownie bites and Biscoff cheesecake. Ciders were flowing too, with The Stable’s house pour ‘Rapscallion’, along with drinks from Sandford Orchards and Tarquin’s.

Live music came from Flo Tippetts-Hill – a familiar face from the Rock Oyster Festival – and there was even a round of cider pong to keep things lively.

What’s on the Menu in Padstow?

The Stable Padstow is serving a brand new menu built around bigger, thinner, crispier sourdough pizza bases. The dough is made fresh daily by chefs using Shipton Mill grains, and the signature tomato sauce is made with San Marzano tomatoes, Cornish sea salt and fresh basil.

Pizza lovers can choose from favourites like the ‘Proper-Roni’, the veggie ‘G.O.A.T’, and the meat-packed ‘The Meat is On’, alongside Padstow’s exclusive ‘The Harbour Master’ – a topping combo of mushrooms, Thorner’s bacon, mature Davidstow cheddar and truffle oil.

But there’s more than pizza on offer. The menu also features dishes like the double smashed beef ‘Bronco’ burger, Rapscallion cider battered fish and chips, and a warming steak pie. There’s also a fully loaded breakfast menu served daily from 9am, with options like ‘The Whole Hog Brekkie’, vegan-friendly alternatives, pancake stacks, breakfast cocktails and freshly made juices.
