Rick Stein’s Restaurant In Padstow Turns 50 – And This Special Menu Is Only £65
A nostalgic new menu honours five decades of iconic dishes at The Seafood Restaurant
To celebrate 50 years since Rick Stein and Jill Stein first opened the doors of The Seafood Restaurant in Padstow Harbour, a new limited-time four-course menu is now being served – offering diners a taste of the dishes that made the restaurant a Cornish institution.
The Taste of 50 Years menu costs £65 and is available every day for both lunch and dinner. It brings together some of the most popular recipes from the past five decades, created in collaboration with chef director Jack Stein and head of food Jason Wass.

Seafood classics and old favourites
Inspired by Rick’s trademark approach of using simple techniques with the best seasonal ingredients, the menu offers a range of carefully chosen classics.
Starters include fresh Dorset oysters or Maryland crab cakes, followed by fish courses such as brill with truffle sauce or lemon sole with shrimp and brown butter. For mains, diners can pick from favourites like the Indonesian seafood curry or roast rump of lamb served with broad beans and peas.
Desserts round things off with a choice between Rick’s personal favourite, a rich chocolate fondant, or a brûléed vanilla rice pudding served with Szechuan-spiced pineapple.
Jack Stein said: “I loved putting this 50th menu together with Dad. It was a real walk down memory lane choosing our best dishes from five decades of The Seafood Restaurant – we can’t wait to share them with our guests.”

Raise a glass to 50 years
Alongside the food, guests can also try a special limited-edition Stein’s 50th anniversary Purple Tiger Beer (£6). Brewed by Harbour Brewing in collaboration with Charlie Stein, it’s a wheat beer infused with coriander, coconut and orange peel. The name comes from the Purple Tiger Club, a short-lived venue Rick and Jill ran before fully committing to the kitchen.
