Farewell to George Cox: Padstow Firefighter Moves to Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service
George’s 5 Years of Service Honoured
This week, Padstow Community Fire Station bid farewell to Firefighter George Cox after five years of dedicated service. George, who joined the station on 18th May 2019, is moving on to a new chapter as a vehicle technician with the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service.
A Colleague Remembered
Fondly known as the ‘king of T5 reports,’ George’s expertise and contributions were highly valued by his team at Padstow Community Fire Station. His departure marks the end of an era that will be remembered by those who worked alongside him.
Best Wishes for the Future
The team at Padstow Community Fire Station expressed their gratitude and well-wishes to both George and Jade, as they embark on their new careers and relocate. “Everyone at 5.3 wishes George and Jade all the best with the move and their new careers,” the post noted.
The station’s send-off concluded with the familiar phrase, “Knock off, make up,” symbolising the close of George’s chapter at Padstow. His official time of service concluded on 31st October 2024.
Padstow’s community has now witnessed another dedicated member move on to a broader role within the fire and rescue network, strengthening connections between services and showcasing the spirit of growth within the firefighting community.
