1,700 Gather for Padstow RNLI’s £45,000 Fundraising Success at Prideaux Place
Padstow RNLI recently held a memorable evening of celebration and music as part of the #RNLI200 festivities. The event, which took place in August at the stunning Prideaux Place, drew a crowd of approximately 1,700 people, all gathered to support the lifesaving organisation.
A Night to Remember
The event was opened with performances by local comedian Johnny Cowling and the band Jailhouse, setting the stage for an evening of entertainment. The highlight of the night came with a performance by the renowned Fisherman’s Friends, whose sea shanties echoed through the picturesque grounds of Prideaux Place.
The sold-out event not only provided an evening of entertainment but also raised an impressive £45,000 for Padstow RNLI. The funds will go towards supporting the essential work carried out by the lifeboat crew and volunteers in keeping the local community and visitors safe at sea.
A Community Effort
The success of the event was made possible thanks to the generous contributions of many individuals and organisations. The Prideaux-Brune family offered the use of Prideaux Place as the venue, adding a touch of historic grandeur to the occasion. Charlie Watson Smythe also provided land for parking, ensuring that guests could attend with ease.
Padstow RNLI expressed their gratitude to all the sponsors who contributed to the evening, as well as to Keirstan Anderson for capturing the event through her photography.
Supporting a Lifesaving Cause
The funds raised from the evening will go a long way in supporting the lifeboat station’s operations. Padstow RNLI, like other stations around the country, relies on donations and community support to continue their life-saving work.
