Zombie Takeover: Spooky Newquay Set to Be Terrifyingly Spectacular This Weekend
Petrifying Pirates, Wicked Witches, and More Await
Newquay is about to get even scarier as the town gears up for its annual Spooky Newquay festivities on Saturday, 26th October. Starting at 3 PM, the event promises a day of bone-chilling fun, with a massive Zombie Crawl leading the frightful charge.
Kicking off from Sydney Road, next to Sainsbury’s, thousands of zombified participants will stagger through the main streets of Newquay. The crawl will culminate at Newquay Train Station, with scenes reminiscent of a dystopian movie. Attendees can expect to witness hordes of zoned-out zombies making their way through the town’s haunted landscape.
Bigger, Scarier, and Funded
This year’s event is set to surpass previous years in scale, thanks to funding from Experience Newquay, a Cornwall Council project. The support has enabled a larger reach and more immersive workshops across town, adding to the spooky atmosphere. These workshops, hosted by local businesses, are set to heighten the scare factor with rolling events before the main Zombie Crawl.
Spooky Shop Fronts and a Prize for the Best
In true Halloween spirit, Newquay’s businesses are embracing the theme by transforming their storefronts into terrifying displays. From witches to ghosts, the spookier the better, and the best-dressed storefront will walk away with a prize.
For those brave enough, it’s sure to be an unforgettable experience of fright and fun in Cornwall.
Will you dare to join in the terror?
