Who Will Be Crowned England’s Best Surfer? National Championships Return to Fistral Beach

The English National Surfing Championships are back for 2025, set to take place at Fistral Beach, Newquay, from Saturday 5th to Monday 7th April. As one of the most anticipated events of the surfing calendar, the competition will showcase some of England’s top talent, with surfers battling it out across multiple divisions for the prestigious national title.

This year, the stakes are even higher, with the winners of the Men’s and Women’s Open Shortboard divisions earning a direct qualification to represent Team England at the ISA World Surfing Games in El Salvador and the European Surfing Championships.

Top Surfing Talent to Compete

Fistral Beach, known for its world-class waves and vibrant surf culture, will provide the perfect backdrop for the three-day competition. The event will follow a single peak format with live scoring and priority judging, ensuring fair competition among the elite surfers.

The Caravan and Motorhome Club English National Surfing Championships will feature the following Shortboard divisions:

  • Men’s & Women’s Open
  • Under 18 Girls & Boys (maximum age 18 by 31st December 2025)
  • Under 16 Girls & Boys (maximum age 16 by 31st December 2025)

How to Register

Surfers keen to compete should act fast—registration opens Monday, 24th February at 7 PM via LIVEHEATS and is expected to fill up quickly.

  • Entry fees: £45 for Open divisions, £40 for U16 and U18 categories
  • Registration deadline: Sunday, 23rd March at 11:59 PM
  • Competitors must be members of Surfing England (membership starts from £18 – £25 per year and includes worldwide personal accident cover, including wave pools, plus exclusive discounts)

Back-Up Date in Place

In case of unfavourable conditions, a back-up date has been scheduled for Saturday 3rd – Monday 5th May. The competition will definitely run on Monday, 7th April, so surfers should be prepared for three full days of action.

Event Partners

The Caravan and Motorhome Club is the headline sponsor, alongside support from korev Lager, The Wave, dryrobe, Clarke Willmott, and The Hangout. The competition is hosted by Fistral Beach, with Era Adventures managing water safety.
