What’s Making a Splash in Newquay This Easter? Leisure Pool Reopens 5th April
Family favourite flumes and fun features return
Newquay Leisure World’s popular leisure pool is set to reopen on Saturday 5th April, just in time for the Easter holidays. The family-friendly pool includes a range of exciting features such as the happy hippo flume, extreme orange flume, bubbly volcano, tippety toppety bucket, Sally the slow snake and Sammy the spitting snake.
Operated under the Better brand by GLL, a not-for-profit social enterprise, Newquay Leisure World is one of nine centres run across Cornwall on behalf of the council.
Easter events and offers
Hannah Fautley, Newquay Leisure World manager, said:
“Reopening our leisure pool is always a milestone moment in our calendar and we’re looking forward to customers of all ages enjoying a splashing time.”
To mark the holiday, a silent disco party for under 12s will be held on Friday 11th April from 5pm to 7pm, priced at £10 per child with free entry for accompanying adults. The event will include an Easter egg hunt and a temporary tattoo station.
Hannah added:
“Kids can swim for £1 from 9am-10am on selected days and, in addition to our regular offering of soft play, trampolining, swim schools and family fun swimming, we’re running additional junior gym sessions on weekday mornings.”
Year-round and Easter holiday activities
In addition to the seasonal fun pool, Newquay Leisure World also offers a six-lane 25m swimming pool, trampoline and play park, gym, fitness studios, outdoor fitness area, and a café – all available year-round.
Other Better leisure centres across Cornwall – including Bude, Saltash, Liskeard, Bodmin, St Austell, Truro, Helston and St Ives – will also be putting on extended Easter programmes.
James Curry, Head of Service for GLL in Cornwall, said:
“Our teams work very hard to ensure all our Cornish centres make full use of their facilities during school holidays.”
“There are short courses available for those wanting to brush up their tennis and swimming skills and a wide range of junior and adult fitness sessions. Each centre has its own timetable and booking is recommended.”
