Police Appeal After Serious Injury Collision Near Newquay

Young man taken to Derriford with serious injuries following early hours incident

Police are appealing for witnesses after a serious injury collision near Newquay in the early hours of Monday 12th May 2025.

Emergency services were called to a single vehicle collision involving a silver Ford Fusion on an unclassified road between St Newlyn East and Mitchell at around 12.10am.

Passenger taken to hospital in serious condition

As a result of the collision, a 20-year-old male passenger was taken to Derriford Hospital in a serious condition. His next of kin are aware.

The 18-year-old male driver and two 18-year-old female passengers were taken to Treliske Hospital to receive treatment for less serious injuries.

Road closed for investigation

Police, fire, and ambulance services attended the scene. Officers from the Devon and Cornwall Roads Policing Team carried out a detailed investigation at the location.
